[On the election trail you find funny stuff sometimes]
Baseball Hall of Famer, Leo Durocher made a couple memorable comments. He was the fellow that said, “”There is a thin line between genius and insanity, and in Larry’s (MacPhail) case it was sometimes so thin you could see him drifting back and forth.”
And another baseball great, Yogi Berra advanced the cause for logic with, ““It’s like deja vu all over again.”; “We made too many wrong mistakes.”and “A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.”
People sometimes say the funniest things. I came across these quotations on a web site for a candidate in Brampton’s upcoming election.
Aside from the fact that he apparently got mixed up and registered to get elected to represent a part of Brampton where he does not live, he does have a couple quotations that brought Leo Durocher and Yogi Berra to mind.
This one caught my eye immediately and left me wondering IF the want-to-be politician has his eye on the budget and finance committee IF he manages to get elected, “2/3rds of everyone who works in Brampton, works somewhere else.”
To his credit, he DID create a web site especially for the October 27th City Election and I urge him to keep the “site” even if he probably won’t win the election.
I can see a great future if a site like this could become the home of funny quotes.
As Yogi Berra said, ““90% of the game is half mental.”
