The ongoing 11 week long Federal election campaign has dragged on way too long. It has dragged on long enough to begin observing a tiresome pattern. The mantra going into the election period was to have been “change”. The Lieberals grabbed the term “Real Change” while the NDP jumped into things with, “Campaign for Change”.
Change for the sake of change can never result in anything but tragedy. To sell me on whatever change is being offered, it is necessary to establish that one has mastered the problems or issues and has come up with defendable alternative. No one would even think about jumping from an airplane without a parachute or abandoning a ship without a lifeboat.
